The Troika

Watch out for this guys, another project by Lord Norman Foster(completed in 2009). The Troika is the tallest residential development in Malaysia and it is Malaysia's first globally-branded residential development. The residential Troika Development is located at the north-eastern corner of Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park, with comprehensive views of the Park and Petronas Towers. The Foster design responds to the unique location with a scheme of three residential towers - of 38, 44, and 50 storeys respectively. The three towers are interlinked by a skybridge at the 24th level. The towers twist as they rise, maximising apartments' views of the city skyline.

New landmark on the horizon

Stanton Williams have created a signature building of powerful visual interest. The design solution was to create a sculpturally strong urban but earthly form, dramatically inspired by shifting tectonic blocks or plates. The solid stone volumes are broken up by geological ‘faults’ between each mass, with glazed panels or lighting in between.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange

For millennia the solid building has stood on a solid base which anchors the structure and connects it emphatically to the ground. In the SSE building the traditional base is lifted up the tower to become a floating platform to broadcast the economic information of the virtual market, and in turn liberate the space on the ground for public space and events. by OMA

Villa Shizilin

The building site used to be an orchard for persimmon trees surrounded by mountains. To fully engage the sceneries in the area, the architecture design takes the rangefinder as concept and nine tapered spaces are oriented towards nine different views. The roofs slope to complete these perspectival rooms while to interpret the traditional Chinese architectural forms in a topological way. by Atelier Feichang Jianzhu

Ann Demeulemeester shop

This proposal is an attempt to incorporate as much nature as possible into the building within the constraints of a low-elevation, high-density urban environment of limited space (378㎡). The building defines its relationship between natural/artificial and interior/exterior as an amalgamation, rather than a confrontation.
Diverse interior spaces designated for its three main programs were made to be perceived and utilized as a part of the outdoors in a variety of ways. This building is not meant to be just another ‘object’ to be experienced externally, but rather as a synthetic organism of nature and artifice.
